Frequently asked questions

Question

Is my child required to be present when I submit his or her passport application in person?

Answer

When the passport application of a child under 16 is submitted, the applicant is the parent, not the child. Therefore, the child is not required to be present when the parent submits the application. Please note that a child under the age of 16 cannot submit an application in person, as he or she is neither the applicant nor an acceptable third party.
